These daffodils pop up from the earth
To welcome the warmth of the sun;
Tis an early sign from nature
That warmer days are yet to come.
Bright yellow blossoms greet the eye
Upon their long sturdy green stems;
Flowering bulbs of the Spring season
Oh how we always welcome them.
Cut a few to bring indoors and admire
What a cheerful sight to see;
Yellow glowing colors stand out
Providing nature’s beauty to thee.
A cheerful message these flowers send
That this day is as precious as the next;
A moment of time not to go unnoticed
For life is not meant to be so complex.
The Energy Within
Let the energy within you
Shine before the light;
It holds much spirit
That will carry you thru the night.
Energy yet untapped
You did not know you had;
Will it to come before you now
Experience its force that makes you glad.
Like Nature’s beautiful flower
That rises from the stem;
The strength within its petals
A precious gift that is truly a gem.
The power of the spirit
With the energy it holds;
Tap into this inner strength
Feel its blossom begin to unfold.
The Beauty of a Flower
Gaze your eyes upon this simple beauty
Notice the intricate design of the flower;
Stay focused on this present moment
Tis the most beautiful creation of the hour.
So delicate in color and vibrant with life
It hangs on to the stem with trust;
The plant will not die and wilt away
Nor will this flower curl up into dust.
Spring is the season plants vibrantly grow
Just to produce this colorful show;
Embrace the scene presented before you
Admire all the beautiful colors that glow.
Tis Gods’ gift of life wrapped in a present
Blessed are you to receive on this day;
Never deny that moment from Him
As you give thanks and pray.
Touch of Friendship
Heavenly is a soft touch.
Touch that reaches the inner being.
Being present with this moment in time.
Time so precious and special.
Special to be treated, so different than others.
Others remembered from the distant past.
Past has gone and can never come back.
Back to the present to engage in this friendship.
Friendship not to be taken for granted.
Granted are we for this moment of the day.
Day in life that blossoms.
Blossoms unfolding to this glorious beauty.
The gift giving is over for most of us and now it is time to find a home for the beautiful things you received from your loved ones. But where? Is your home not full of pretty things? Is your closet full? Cupboards overflowing? Retailers cannot wait until January when they can promote more plastic totes for storage. It happens every year.
Where do you keep your prize possessions? No, I do not mean the physical ones. Those beliefs, fears, wants, needs and desires. Like a closet or a plastic tote, they are stored someplace within you. And, only you can account for them. Only you can initiate the change that gives your inner self room to blossom.
Do yourself a favor today and start to find space in your life for your dreams to grow. Clean out your closet of negative thoughts. Let go of those unwanted feelings you have been accumulating. It is simply a waste of your time and energy. Replace that negative thinking with a memory that makes you happy. Feel the joy as you recount that event. Once you begin to clean your inner being, that which makes you who you truly are, you will start to sparkle and glow. Believe in the beauty that is within you. You are a good person after all. And, like a budding rose, you will grow to bloom and develop into that gorgeous person you are meant to be.
Are we not all surrounded by abundance? We are blessed with abundance in so many ways. The air we breathe, this moment, this day. Our friends, our family, our loved ones. Flowers that blossom each and every year. Trees that bear fruit and ones that provide shade. Sunshine that brings light to our soul. Water that quenches our thirst. Stars that twinkle in the night sky. The sun and moon consistently each and every day both rise in the east and set in the west, even if we cannot visually see them.
One of my favorite books is called “Simple Abundance” by Sarah Ban Breathnach given to me by my sister during a time in my life when I really needed it. I pulled it off the bookshelf recently and have enjoyed following her daily writings and quotes. Looking forward to starting it again on January 1st. I highly recommend this book to you.
Take notice of the abundance in your life. Give thanks for the day given to you on a silver platter. Reflect about all those moments that have passed unnoticed, forgotten and taken for granted. Abundance is right before your very eyes. Abundance just surrounds us.
